Hello Parents,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. I am sure that this year will be filled with excitement, accomplishment, and learning. My name is Jessica Rabon and I will be your child’s teacher for some if not all of your child’s classes this year. This is my second year teaching at Gulf Breeze High School and third year teaching ESE.
My teaching career start back in my sophomore year of high school at Baldwin County High School. I started taking Early Childhood courses as an easy grade. I ended loving the classes and took more while in high school. My senior year I was awarded Excellence in Family and Consumer Science for my school. I graduated in 2007. Shortly after graduation I worked at Cokesbury Children’s Center as an afternoon teacher’s aide. In the fall of 2007, I stared Pensacola Junior College as an Education major. I graduated in the winter of 2010. In the spring of 2011, I transferred to the University of West Florida as an ESE and Elementary Ed. Major. I also changed jobs and started working at Marcus Pointe Christian Center as a kindergarten aide. My senior year at UWF I joined a year-long internship at Brentwood Elementary as a 5th grade teacher. I graduated from UWF in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in ESE/Elem Ed/ESOL/Reading. That August I started my first teacher job as a kindergarten teacher at Montclair Elementary. I stayed there for two years teaching 3rd grade my second year. In 2015 I transferred to Gulf Breeze Elementary School as a 4th and 5th grade ESE and Inclusion teacher. Last year I taught ACCESS at Gulf Breeze High School and I am very happy to be moving to CBSA this year.
I was born and raised in Pensacola. However there was a short time that I lived in Clear Springs, AL. I came back to Pensacola after graduating high school. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Justin. He is a bakery manager at The Fresh Market and he loves to cook. We do not have any children, but we do have a dog named Archie.
After reading this syllabus please feel free to call me if you have any questions. I am an open book and always willing to take questions, comments, and/or concerns. My contact information is below and there are details about contacting me on page 4. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child and I know this year will be a successful year for your child.
Sincerely,
Jessica Rabon
